Final Exam

Today was my final exam for school! I'm ready to be out so I can actually spend time with Brian. I'm with the boys all day and study at night. My hardest tests this semester was learning all the bones and muscles. No, not just femur and gluteus maximus. I mean every grove, all the hand and foot bones, if it's on the right or left side of the body, how everything rotates. You name it, I learned it. Ironically, I got over 100's on both these tests. The lowest grade I got was on a lecture test and it was an 84. I got MAD. I talked to the teacher and she said I got the highest grade out of all her classes. She told me she was going to have to redo the test for next semester because no one did good. Well, I guess that made me feel a little better. Luckily she drops the lowest test grade. So now, I'm done and proud to say I got an A! I got my same teacher next semester so hopefully I'll get the same grade. Next up, Anatomy and Physiology 2.

Nana

While I was taking my exam, Brian’s grandmother was taken to the hospital because she couldn’t breathe. I went to Brian’s Mom’s to pickup Austin and she told me what happened. I ended up spending the day over there with Brian’s sister waiting to find out what was going on. Around lunchtime, the doctors decided to keep her overnight. We all headed up to the hospital to visit. Austin was thrilled to ride the elevator and go into a big building. I showed him where we were going when we got off the interstate (Saint Francis), and you couldn’t wipe the smile off his face. The building is kinda mirrored so he thought it was cool. There was also a manger scene out front which we had to checkout.

Once we got to the room, Austin was all over the place. He acted really well but kids just don’t belong in hospitals. Brian’s Dad pulled a dime out of Austin’s ear so he was pretty excited to have some money. Nana was eating lunch and had an orange that she wanted to give to him. He took the orange, looked at it, and then gave her his dime. He said he needed to pay for it. Of course she made change and gave him back the dime but it's the thought that counts.

Austin's Christmas program

Today was Austin's Christmas program at school. He's on the top row right in the middle. They sang 3 songs in English then Jingle Bells in Spanish. When it was time for Jingle Bells, the Spanish teacher stood in front to help. She reminded them to sing loud and the next thing you hear is Austin at the top of his lungs "don't forget to smile". The entire place busted out laughing. He sang his little heart out up there. He waved and blew kisses at us the entire time. After the 3 year olds sang, they had to sit on the stairs and the 2 year olds stood on the floor in front of them. Austin put his hands on his knees and propped his head up because he was bored. When his class finally left the Sanctuary, he turned and waved yelling "bye Mom". He melts my heart!!!!!

ENT trip 2

Man am I glad I got my appointment back!

I took Kaleb to the ENT today and nothings cleared up. He's been battling a sinus infection since a little before Halloween and none of the antibiotics have done anything. He's on the last antibiotic(Suprax)before we consider another surgery. He goes back in two weeks and if the x-ray comes out clear, life will be great! If not, Kaleb will get his first cat scan. There's suppose to be air in your sinuses which on x-ray's would be black. His x-ray's are completely white so nothings draining or moving. Please keep him in your prayers. He's been such a trooper through all of this.

Allergic reaction

The boys spent the night with my parents last night and when Mom brought them home, Kaleb looked terrible. He had 103 temperature, whelps on his face, and threw up his medicine. I called the ENT as soon as they opened. The nurse told me to call the pediatrician because Dr. Naidu's in surgery on Thursday and Friday's. I got an appointment for 11:00 and raced out the door.
Austin had a birthday party for Jesus so we headed to Target for a present, then off to school. Brian stayed home with Kaleb and took him to the doctor. They were there for 2 hours waiting on everything. They checked him for strep, took his blood for bacteria, and had to wait for the paperwork from the ENT to be faxed over. Everything came back normal so he was just having an allergic reaction to the medicine. She told us to cancel our appointment with the ENT because everything was clear. She didn't give him another antibiotic and told us to give him benedryl and everything would be okay once all the medicine was out of his system.

I called the ENT and cancelled the appointment as soon as I got out of school. I was really excited because that would save me $50. Right at 5:00 the pediatrician called and told me that the ENT did want to see Kaleb and she had hoped I hadn't cancelled the appointment. I called and thankfully got my appointment back.
