Cystic Fibrosis

We finally got Kaleb tested for Cystic Fibrosis this morning. I have no idea how long it will take to get the results back but I'm going to call the ENT on Friday if I haven't heard anything. When Kaleb had his Endoscopic sinus surgery last year the doctor found a cyst and he wanted us to get the test done then.
I couldn't make the appointment and everything had to go through my ENT. Needless to say, it took forever to get it lined up. This was our 4th appointment so I was determined to make it. Once I dropped Austin off at Brian's parents, Kaleb and I headed downtown to Le Bonheur. We finally get there(morning rush hour traffic) and we didn't have an appointment! I have no idea what happened but I pitched a fit and got them to work me in since we were the only ones there. I also called Dr. Naidu and asked them again when the appointment was. They confirmed that it was today but Le Bonheur said March 29.
I've made a point not to "google" Cystic Fibrosis because I really don't want to know what it is. I did however just google it to check the spelling and completely wish I hadn't. I got sucked in just like I knew I would and am totally freaking out. Please pray for my sweet Kaleb and for me to hold it together until I know the results.

Look who can tie a shoe!

I couldn't think of anything better to do on President's day than teach Kaleb how to tie his shoes. It only took him about 3 tries! They both got books from Santa but weren't really interested in it. Kaleb started looking at his before he went to bed at night so I thought we would give it a try. I'm so proud of him. We told him to keep practicing and we would take him shopping for a brand new pair of lace-up shoes.

First mini golf game

One of our friends gave the boys some golf clubs a couple of years ago and they finally found them. We had them hidden so they wouldn't pretend they were baseball bats or tear up our grass trying to hit the ball. They were so excited that Brian and I got suckered into taking them to play golf. We did mini golf first then bought a small basket of balls at the driving range. Kaleb lasted a little longer on the driving range than Austin. You had to walk past a playground so that's all the kids wanted to do. Mini golf was fun and held there attention the entire time. Only problem was as soon as they were done with a hole they would move to the next. The adults couldn't play fast enough to keep up.

Membership

Kaleb got sent to his room about 5 minutes before dinner because he was back talking me. Once I had dinner on the table I told him to come down and join us. He was still mad at me and asked if he could change his last name.
I told him I didn't want him to change his name and wouldn't help. He had to wait until he's 18 then make that decision. He excitedly turned to Austin and asked him if he wanted to change his name too. Austin gave him a deer in headlights look and said "oh no, no way, I like my membership. I'm gonna stay in this club." I swear you never know whats gonna come out of that child's mouth! Cracks me up:)

Hello Snow!!

Today was amazing! The only bad thing is Brian flew out this morning for Vegas and my garbage disposal broke:( Why is it the second your all alone everything starts falling apart. Whats up with that?
The kids and I played in the snow for about 3 hours. They would take their clothes off in the garage then run inside, put footed pajamas on, and hop under the electric blanket. We had an absolute blast. Were the only house in our neighborhood with kids so everyone's house still looks amazing with a beautiful blanket of snow. Ours looks like a tornado struck and demolished every square inch of it. I can't think of anything else I would have liked to do today than hangout with two of my favorite guys in the snow. Wow, what a day!!!

The simple things in life

I'm sadly counting down the minutes until schools starts back. I've had two amazing weeks with my kids and wouldn't change a second of it. Today was Chuck E Cheese and Baskin Robbins day. I'm not a huge fan of either place but the smiles on their faces is worth everything in the world. I'm so lucky and blessed to be able to spend this time with them. I know it's not the money we invest but the hugs and kisses that come along with every game that's won and all the tickets they win. The shear excitement and me getting to be their biggest fan, rooting them on, and being proud of them for winning two tickets at ski ball for a piece of candy. It's the simple things in life that matter and I'm honored to go on this journey with my amazing kids. I can't thank God enough for my family. I truly hit the jackpot!

Bowling

I swear my kids are obsessed with bowling. That's all they ever want to do. I can just mention it and the boys transform into the most obedient things you've ever seen. This morning I needed to clean house so I used my "bribing" skills which worked amazing:) I got to clean house all morning, go to the gym, then take them bowling. No whining was involved which makes for one happy mommy! Too bad Brian's in Nashville for the next two days. He would have been so proud of them. Brian left this morning but were already ready for him to come home. Thursday night can't come soon enough!
